Ours poked through, amazingly, two and a half weeks ago as our last snowfall melted. Would you believe we have daffodils today?!? It’s much, much too early. Still, I have to agree that they are beautiful.
Our winter was mild and low on precipitation compared to last year, although my husband said that the amount of snow we got was still above what he remembered as a kid and has known since he moved back to Arkansas 20 years ago.
I’m hoping that this early spring doesn’t mean we’ll have a long, hot summer again. Last year was one for the record books.
I didn’t realize you had been spared. It seems that much of the country saw extreme weather this winter. Yes, let’s hope that this isn’t a harbinger of a long, hot summer. Maybe it’s just coming early because Punxsutawney Phil said it would 🙂
Thanks! It’s the only bit of color in our entire yard, and I used super macro since the bloom is only about 1-inch tall! But it definitely made my day.

Wow! It sounds as if your plants are way ahead of ours. Maybe they are eager to see the sunshine after such an intense winter!

We did have wintery weather (you probably saw it: http://ozarkhomesteader.wordpress.com/2011/02/10/snow-days/ ), but it was nothing like last year. I’d say we dodged it.

Wow. What a beautiful yellow! And I was getting excited over little green leaves poking through the hardened dirt the other day. Very pretty!
